Basement Ceiling Rebuild & Stair Refinish
A tired 4x2 basement ceiling tile and worn stairs replaced with new 2x2 tile, a new light, and freshly sanded and painted steps.

The Build
What we did in Waltham, MA
The basement was closed in by an old 4x2 tile ceiling sitting on a dark wood grid, and the stairs had layers of chipped paint and scuffed treads. We demolished the old tile and grid, checked the joists, wiring, and junction box above and made them safe, then installed a new 2x2 tile ceiling with a new light. The staircase was sanded back and repainted in a two-tone finish — dark treads with crisp white risers, stringers, and handrail — and the surrounding walls were prepped and repainted to match.
